A graduate of the Hanxin College wins the championship in an international voice acting competition.
Lai Weiyu, a graduate of Hanxin College, teamed up with her China teammates to form the "China-Malaysia Team" and stood out in the 6th International University Student Voice Acting Competition, winning first prize in the international group! From third prize last year to first prize this year, Lai proved with her talent and passion that voice can transcend national boundaries. Their chosen piece was a scene from the film "When the Geese Return." To find the most suitable scene with three women and one man, the team searched through countless materials, repeatedly selecting, revising, and rehearsing, all to present that perfect resonance.
On the day of the competition, the tense atmosphere backstage made her heart race, but her teammates' words of encouragement made her deeply realize that the charm of voice is not just about stage performance, not just about portraying a character, but also about the trust and tacit understanding between team members.
Speaking about her experience participating in the competition, Lai shared, "The most important thing in voice acting is to enjoy the process. Don't be afraid of making mistakes, and don't dislike your own voice. Practice more, play more, and try more, and you will find your own voice."
From her childhood curiosity about "voice" to the confident smile on the international stage today, every step she has taken has been paved with passion.
Speaking out to the world, letting passion resonate!
Congratulations to our graduate—Lai—for demonstrating her talent in "The Voice Beyond Borders."
